We begin an 8-day trek through the Dudh Kosi and Khumbu Valleys and climb to the village of Namche Bazaar. We admire some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in the Himalayas including Ama Dablam (6856m), Lhotse (8512m) and Mount Everest (8848m).
ITINERARY
Days 1/2 Overnight flight to Kathmandu. Day 3 Kathmandu Enjoy a walking tour of the old city. Days 4/6 8-day trek Fly to Lukla. Begin our trek following the famous trail to Mount Everest. Hike along the banks of the Dudh Kosi River to the town of Namche Bazaar and visit the weekly market. Day 7 Namche Bazaar to Deboche Descend through forests of blue pine and cross the Dudh Kosi River to Phungki Tenga (3250m). Trek to Thyangboche Monastery (3867m). Continue to Deboche (3800m). Admire magnificent panoramas of the Himalayas including: Mount Everest (8848m), Ama Dablam (6856m), Kangtega (6779m) and Lhotse (8512m). Day 8 Deboche to Khumjung Along the way visit the local school, the monastery or the highest bakery in the world. Day 9 Khumjung to Monzo Optional trip to Everest View Hotel for spectacular mountain panoramas. Hike through Khunde village and visit the local hospital built by the Himalayan Trust.
