On this short tour our goal is to observe the endangered Bengal tiger in the wild. We spend three days in the Ranthambore National Park, home not only to this rare creature but also to leopards, crocodiles and many species of bird. We also discover the architectural and cultural delights of New and Old Delhi.
ITINERARY
Days 1/2 Fly to Delhi. Day 3 Ranthambore Take the Golden Temple Mail train to Sawai Madhopur -– gateway to Ranthambore National Park. We take our first game drive this afternoon. Days 4/5 Tiger Search Explore the lakes and rivers of the park, which contains central India’s last remaining native forest. Look for tigers, sambar deer, leopards, crocodiles, sloth bears, langurs, eagles and white-breasted kingfishers. We have two game drives with time for two further trips into the park. We also visit Ranthambore Fort. Day 6 Delhi Take the Jan Shatabdi Express to New Delhi. Visit the President’s Palace, part of the legacy of the British Raj. See the Red Fort and the remarkable Moghul architecture of the Jami Masjid mosque, followed by shopping in the Chandni Chowk Bazaar. Day 7 Fly to UK.
