We travel across the golden-orange sand dunes of the Namib Desert to the green wetlands of the Okavango Delta. On the way we meet local Bushmen, hike through the deep Sesriem Canyon and track wildlife on safari in Moremi and Etosha parks.

ITINERARY


Days 1/2 Overnight flight to Windhoek. Days 3/4 Sesriem Travel into the Namib Desert – the oldest on Earth. Explore Sesriem Canyon and the sand dunes of Sossusvlei. Days 5/6 Swakopmund Free time to explore the coastal town. Optional balloon ride over the desert or boat trip to Walvis Bay. Day 7 Damaraland Visit the seal colony at Cape Cross. Admire the rock art of local Bushmen at Brandberg and Twyfelfontein. Travel to Etosha. Days 8/9 Etosha National Park Take a series of safaris through the park in search of elephants, rhinos and lions. Days 10/11 Caprivi Strip Drive along this eastern region towards Botswana, following the Kavango River. There is a free day to relax in or take a boat trip in Divundu. Days 12/14 Okavango Delta Search for unusual birds in the Moremi Game Reserve by boat and take a drive to view the animals. Days 15/16 Kalahari Desert Crossing the red sands there is an optional nature walk with the San Bushmen. Days 17/18 Overnight flight to the UK.

Days 5/6 Southern Angola Cross the border at the remote town of Ruacana. Discover the Himba heartland. Day 7/8 Iona National Park Explore Angola’s largest protected area in search of wildlife. Day 9 Atlantic Coast Visit Lake Arco. Drive to Flamingo Camp, set on the vast stretch of uninhabited coastline that lies at the mouth of the Rio Dos Flamingos. Day 10 Namibe Drive to this coastal town to visit the port area. Day 11/12 Lubango Drive over the breathtaking Leba mountain pass to reach Tunda Vala escarpment. Visit the Portuguese colonial town of Lubango, guarded by the statue of Christ. Days 13/14 Etosha National Park Return south spending two nights on safari in the game lands of Namibia’s iconic park in search of big game including elephants, rhinos and lions. Day 15 Drive to Windhoek and explore the city. Days 16/17 Overnight flight to the UK.
