This cultural journey across Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand includes many of the highlights of Southeast Asia: from bustling Bangkok and colonial Saigon to dense jungles and floating villages. We visit the tragic ‘Killing Fields’ in Phnom Penh and explore the Chu Chi tunnels from the Vietnam War. We also cruise through the Mekong Delta and explore the ancient temple city Angkor.
ITINERARY
Days 1/2 Overnight flight to Bangkok. Day 3 Bangkok Explore the city before travelling to Khao Yai National Park. Day 4 Jungle trekking Take a guided walk through one of Asia’s largest monsoon rainforests. Days 5/6 Rural borders Travel through Thailand’s rural landscape to Siem Reap in Cambodia observing typical Indochina scenes. Days 7/8 Angkor temples Explore the world’s largest ancient temple city, buried deep in the jungle. There is the option of a boat ride across Cambodia’s largest lake, Tonle Sap. Day 9 Phnom Penh Travel cross country to the vibrant capital. Day 10 Killing fields Discover Cambodia’s tragic history with visits to the Fields and the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum. Day 11 Royal Palace Tour the Grand Palace. Take a scenic speedboat ride to Chao Doc, the gateway to Vietnam. Days 12/13 Mekong Delta Explore the tranquil villages and lively floating markets. Day 14 Saigon Visit the markets and temples in the former capital Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City). Explore the Cu Chi tunnels - home to 10,000 Viet Cong troops during the War. Days 15/16 Overnight flight to the UK.

Days 1/2 Overnight flight to Bangkok. Optional trip along the city’s klongs (canals). Days 3/5 Angkor temples Travel by public bus into Cambodia to Siem Reap. Spend time exploring Angkor’s incredible temple ruins – now engulfed by jungle. Take an optional boat ride on Tonle Sap Lake. Day 6 Battambong Board a boat across the lake to the country town of Battambong, passing stilted and floating fishing villages. Days 7/8 Phnom Penh Explore the vibrant capital on an orientation walk. Optional visits to the Genocide Museum, ‘Killing Fields’ and the Royal Palace. Soak up the atmosphere of the lively markets or enjoy a drink in one of the colonial riverfront bars.
