Day 1/2 Overnight flight to Bangkok. Optional trip on the city’s klongs (canals). Day 3 Bangkok Visit the Grand Palace and temple of Wat Po. Catch a sleeper train north to Den Chai. Days 4/6 Village life Drive to Nan. Walk and cycle to the small hill-tribe communities of Yao and Hmong. Spend two nights as guests in a family home and join in daily activities such as harvesting or cooking. Drive to Lampang. Days 7/8 Skyway road Explore Lampang with an optional visit to the elephant sanctuary. Drive along one of Thailand’s most scenic roads to Umphang, the starting point of the jungle trip. Days 9/13 Jungle adventure Spend five days enjoying jungle activities in the forested landscape: try white-water rafting across rapids, walk through the undergrowth and ride an elephant down the river. On this tour the emphasis is on the breath-taking ancient temple cities of Angkor along with contrasting capitals of Phom Penh and Bangkok. We spend several days exploring the vast complex of temple groups buried deep in the Cambodian jungle. Along the way we also visit the museums of its capital Phnom Penh and the grand Buddhist temples of the bustling Thai capital, Bangkok.

Day 1/2 Overnight flight to Bangkok. Day 3 Bangkok Explore the Royal Palace and Buddhist temples of the capital. Optional trip along the city’s klongs (canals) in traditional longtail boats; or visit Thailand’s tallest temple tower at the ‘Temple of Dawn’. Days 4/5 Phnom Penh Fly to the capital. Take a guided tour of the Royal Palace, Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and the ‘Killing Fields’. Drive to Siem Reap. Day 6 Explore the ‘Roulos Temples’ including Bakong, Preah Ko and Lolei. Travel to the second Angkor capital and visit the temples of Pre-Rup, Takeo and East Mebon. Watch the sun set from Pre-Rup with fantastic views over the ruins. Day 7 Discover the Temples of Banteay Sre: the famous Angkor Wat and Ta Phrom, which lies half-consumed by the jungle. Day 8 Optional sunrise tour of Angkor Wat. Visit the 12th century fortified city of King Jayavarman VII. Take a boat trip on Cambodia’s largest lake, Tonle Sap. Fly to Bangkok. Day 9 Fly to the UK.
