Travelling in a safari truck we explore deep canyons, perfectly-formed sand dunes and tribal settlements in the Namib desert. We spend time in Etosha National Park in search of its prolific wildlife, walk in the mountains of the Waterberg Plateau and discover tribal rock art in Damaraland. Nights are spent under canvas as we camp along the route.

ITINERARY


Days 1/2 Overnight flight to Windhoek. Days 3/4 Canyons and desert Travel into the Namib-Naukluft National Park in the Namib Desert. Walk through Sesriem Canyon and marvel at the perfectly- formed golden sand dunes in Sossusvlei. Days 5/6 Swakopmund There is an option to take a dawn balloon trip over the dunes. Stop at Walvis Bay, a deep sea bay home to flamingos. Travel to the Atlantic coast capital: explore the markets and architecture of this former German colony. Days 7/8 Damaraland Visit the seal colony at Cape Cross. Drive past Namibia’s highest peak, Brandberg Mountain (2573m) and pitch camp on the banks of the Aba-Huab River. Discover the rock art of the San Bushmen at Twyfelfontein and travel into the Petrified Forest. Days 9/10 Etosha National Park Track big game through Etosha, including elephants, rhinos and lions. Days 11/12 Waterberg Plateau Visit the magnificent cats at the Cheetah Conservation Fund. Take a walk or game drive through Waterberg Park. Days 13/14 Return to Windhoek. Fly to the UK.

Days 8/9 Etosha National Park Explore the open plains and dense bush in search of elephants, rhinos and lions.
