Days 1/2 Overnight flight to Nairobi. Day 3 Lake Nakuru Discover birdlife in Kenya’s Rift Valley. Days 4/5 Samburu National Park Spend a day searching for big game including lions and leopards. Days 6/7 Into the Omo Drive through Kenya’s remote north and cross into Ethiopia’s Omo Valley. Days 8/9 Rift Valley tribes Visit El Sod crater-lake, where the Borena tribe still extract salt for their cattle. Discover the cultivated homeland of the Konso locals. Days 10/12 Dorze village Explore the community’s unusual beehive houses. Travel to the Ethiopian capital. Days 13/14 Addis Ababa Tour the city’s highlights and travel into the highlands, stopping at the sacred site of Debre Libanos. Days 15/16 Lakes and falls Reach the source of the Blue Nile to see Tississat Falls and take a boat trip to remote monasteries on Lake Tana. Day 17 Gondar Visit the 17th century castle. Days 1/2 Overnight flight to Kigali in Rwanda. Travel to Ruhengeri. Days 3/4 Mountain Gorillas Track these primate families in the Parc National des Volcans with experienced guides. Days 5/6 Lake Bunyoni Cross into Uganda and take a boat across the lake to Bushara Island. Explore the surroundings, hire a canoe or visit a school. Days 7/8 Lake Mburo Take a game drive through the National Park in search of wildlife. Drive to the capital Kampala. Days 9/10 White Nile Drive to Bujagali Falls and Jinja, the source of the Nile, where there is a chance to raft along the river’s rapids. Optional visits to an orphanage or local schools. Days 11/12 Rift Valley Lakes Cross into Kenya. Take a game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its flamingos and White Rhinos. Day 13 Lake Naivasha A walking safari through the nature reserve. Optional walking safari in Hell’s Gate National Park. Days 14/16 Maasai Gamelands Game drives in search of the ‘Big Five’.
