Verdant rainforests, dramatic coastal landscapes and tropical islands are all part of this trekking adventure in Madagascar. Gettting off the beaten track we explore some of the lesser known reserves, searching for wildlife including lemurs and tree frogs. Trekking through the rainforest we visit local communities and learn about their culture. We also catch a ferry to the exotic island of Sainte Marie and hope to see whales in the Indian Ocean.
ITINERARY
Days 1/2 Overnight flight to Antananarivo. Days 3/4 Indri Lemur Travel east on a 1930’s Michelin train from the capital to the village of Andasibe. Explore the Analamazoatra Reserve, searching for Indri – the largest of the surviving lemurs. At night we take a walk through the reserve, tracking mouse lemur and tree frogs. Days 5/6 Rainforest Trek Hike through the rainforest to the community project at Vohimana. Visit the villages and learn about local life. Days 7/9 Coastal Trek Travel north along Madagascar’s east coast to explore the canal system. Trek through lowland forest and camp by the edge of the Indian Ocean. Continue to the village of Manompana. Days 10/11 Ambodiriana Explore the forests of the Ambodiriana Reserve and search for lemurs. Days 12/13 Sainte Marie Take

TROPICAL ISLAND HOPPING PARADISE ISLANDS OF THE SEYCHELLES

Unwind with us in the beautiful islands of the Seychelles. We explore the palm-lined beaches of Praslin and visit the forest of Vallée de Mai, home to the famous Coco de Mer Palm. In Morne Seychellois National Park we hike along forest trails to Trois Frères peak to enjoy spectacular views over the island and its beach fringed shores.
ITINERARY
Days 1/2 Overnight flight to Mahé Island. Explore Victoria and admire the typical Creole-style buildings. Days 3/5 Mahé Island Travel to the Morne Seychellois National Park and hike along forest trails to Trois Frères peak for wonderful views over the island. There is the option to visit several smaller islands and discover the underwater life at the Marine National Parks. Days 6/9 Praslin Island Take a catamaran ferry to Praslin and explore the beautiful palm-lined beaches. Visit the World Heritage Site of Vallée de Mai; a unique forest adorned with granite boulders and home to both the black parrot and the Coco de Mer palm. There is the option to tour Praslin by bicycle or visit Cousin Island Reserve – a popular boat excursion for bird enthusiasts. Days 10/13 La Digue Island Take a ferry across to this tranquil island – an ideal place to unwind. Small enough to explore on foot you can
