Explore the white coral beaches, verdant rainforests and rugged mountains of these volcanic islands. Travelling to Saint Lucia, Dominica and Martinique we hike through forests, discover waterfalls and stroll through local markets. We stay in some remote villages and small port towns. Along the way we have the opportunity to snorkel in the warm waters of the Caribbean Sea.
ITINERARY
Days 1/3 Mon Repos Fly to St Lucia and drive to Mon Repos on the rugged Atlantic coast. Visit the old British Fort in Pigeon Island. Explore Quiles Forest Reserve and walk along the Des Cartiers famous Rainforest Nature Trail looking for the local birdlife. Optional visit to the Botanical Gardens. Days 4/5 Dominica Fly to Dominica and drive to the small mountain village of Laudat. Optional walks to Titou Gorge and Boiling Lake. Days 6/7 Roseau Visit Middleham Falls in the midst of the Trois Morne rainforest and travel to the capital. Optional activities include whale-watching (depending on numbers) and snorkelling. Days 8/10 Martinique Catch a ferry to Fort de France: admire the French architecture and visit local markets. Tour the seaside town of St Anne and enjoy walks along the beach. Optional activities include a visit to the former capital of Saint Pierre and scuba diving or snorkelling in Anse Mitan. Days 11/12 Soufriere (St Lucia) Trek through rainforest, bathe in volcanic sulphur springs and unwind on pristine beaches. Days 13/14 Transfer to the airport. Overnight flight to the UK.

We cruise on the Panama Canal and hike through cloudforest along the famous Quetzal Trail in La Amistad National Park. Day 1 Fly to Panama City. Days 2/3 Panama City Discover the Spanish colonial roots of the capital in Casco Viejo. Tour the ruins of the original city at Panama Viejo. Take a boat trip on the Panama Canal and search for diverse birdlife on Gatun Lake. Day 4 Cerro Punta Travel by bus to David in the province of Chiriqui and continue up into the volcanic highlands. Day 5 La Amistad National Park Take a guided walk through vast and rich highland forests. Day 6 Los Quetzales Trail Follow Panama’s most popular hike through a UNESCO-listed area of verdant forest in search of the Resplendent Quetzal bird. Day 7 Boquete Enjoy a free day to go white-water rafting, tour of coffee plantation or walk along a canopy trail. Days 8/9 Bocas del Toro Islands Catch a ferry to the idyllic Caribbean islands: comb the white-sand beaches, take a boat trip to neighbouring islands and snorkel among exotic fish in the clear sea. Day 10 Embera Indians Fly to Panama City. Travel up the Chagres River by dugout canoe. Meet the indigenous people of the Chagres National Park. Days 11/12 Overnight flight to the UK.
