irst Citizen Finance DAC was established in October 2012 by the former senior management team of permanent tsb Finance


Limited, and commenced business in January 2013. First Citizen Finance is a wholly owned indigenous Irish company employing over 60 staff. Headquartered in Dublin and represented nationwide, it is ideally placed to serve its customers’ needs throughout Ireland. Chris Hanlon, Managing Director of First


Citizen Finance and former Chief Executive of permanent tsb Finance, oversaw the organic growth of PTSBF into the leading provider of motor finance. From 1993 to 2012, it was the largest provider of wholesale funding to distributors and retail car finance to over 400 franchised motor dealers, approved by SIMI. It had long associations with brands such as Opel, Nissan, Fiat, Hyundai, Kia, Mitsubishi and Citroën, to name but a few. At one stage, PTSBF was processing over 100,000 credit applications every year, over a diverse range of products including cars, motorcycles, agricultural machinery, Section 481 film finance, office equipment and computers. Total assets under management peaked at €1.9 billion.
