WITH the good weather starting to make regular appearances, many car- avaners will be itching to get their mobile
homes back on the road. Before you leave your drive, however, it is sensible to follow the checklist below to ensure that you reach your cherished destination safely. © Pack everything within the caravan
with bedding to ensure nothing moves while you are travelling. An unstable van is a dan gerous van. • Within your towing vehicle, tie down
heavy luggage over the rear axle. ® Store light items at the front and rear of
the caravan but ensure that the caravan is heavier at the front than the rear. © Keep cupboards empty while you travel.
Fill them when you arrive. Packing above waist height will alter the centre of gravity and could make the van unstable. O If you consider that your skills are lack
ing then practise on an open empty space. Some people may feel that they need to take a test so should contact the DVLA. © Check the tyres on both your towing
vehicle and caravan. Make sure they are set at the correct pressure and that the tyre are the correct specification. © Make sure that both your spare wheels
(car and caravan) are roadworthy. © Examine the condition of your brake pads and discs. If in doubt replace them.

WHEN a young Korean sold his father’s only cow to get mpney to
standable that the old man was a little peeved. What he did not know was that his son’s business was to become one of the biggest global manufacturing companies. The name of this company? Hyundai.
/'J'N THE Muscovites are nothing if not enterprising. Some of their ambulance
teams have been hauled across the coals for mis-using their vehicles while awaiting an emergency call. They have been renting out their ambulances to amorous couples. The lovers were ejected, however, once a call was taken.

£14,995? It is worth considering how the Quiksilver came into being. Orig inally a special edition model, it proved so popular with 206 cus tomers that Peugeot could not kill it off. The Coupe Cabrio version offers more of the same. Special edition models traditionally gave you some plastic wheel trims and side stripes on a tired old model in a cynical attempt to breathe some life into a flagging package. The 206 CC Quik silver could not have been further from this particular stereotype. Designed to be offer sporting good
looks, the Quiksilver is snappy with metallic paintwork set off by 16 in. Ouragan alloy wheels, aluminium rear safety roll over arches and silver Quiksilver badging on the doors. Subtle changes were wrought inside as well. There is a leather

plete the interior changes. When one considers that all these extras tot up just £282 on top of the price of a standard 206 CC 1.6 the Quiksilver looks an attractive piece of business. It will account for the 60 m.p.h.
sprint in a mere 11.7 seconds en route to a top speed of 115 m.p.h., but these figures really are quite aca demic. Blatting about with the roof
down, the stereo up and the shades on is what this car’s all about. With only 1,000 examples being produced, you will need to act quickly if you are going to lay your hands on a 206 CC Quiksilver. If you are looking for a value coupe cabriolet, the Quiksil ver offers a compelling argument even if the only surfing you ever do is on the internet.
