Chipping hit rivals for six!

Chipping...................... 6 Goosnargh ..................0 CHIPPING really hit form against Goosnargh as, after some unlucky results, everything finally went right. The game began quite

openly with both teams enjoying some good pos session in the middle of the park. However, it was not long

before Chipping began to dominate and a tactical switch by manager Dom Hester really began to show dividends. The first goal came from

a poor clearance which Scarborough siezed upon to find Proctor in the box who planted a well struck shot past the keeper. Chipping continued to

press and soon made the score 2-0 as a misplaced clearance hit Danny Austin eight yards out and he reacted quickly to ham mer the ball home into an unguarded net. The third goal was prob

ably the pick of the lot as typical Chipping team work unlocked the Goos nargh back line. Some mesmerising play

down the right by Scarbor ough saw him skin the left back down the outside before knocking the ball inside to Hornby in the box for Proctor to score his second of the game with a crisp volley. The second half began

as the first ended with Chipping pressing Goos nargh from the start. A superb ball from

Johnny Fletcher sent Hornby clear who thun dered an unstoppable shot past the keeper for Chip ping’s fourth. But with the game all

I O

but over, Goosnargh ral lied and created a few chances of their own. Dean Austin, largely

untroubled in the Chip ping goal during the first half, was forced into action on a few occasions, one of which was a superb tip over from an excellently struck free kick. This was as much as

Goosnargh offered as Chipping punished them twice more before the final whistle. Hornby scored the fifth

and cheekiest goal when he broke clear down the left, and after seeing there was little support in the mid-. die, struck a shot th a t somehow squeezed in from the most acute of angles. The scoring was com

pleted by Proctor who claimed an excellent hat- trick with a long range effort tha t took a nasty bounce to beat the Goos nargh keeper.
