CLITHEROE FC start their pre season warm up on Saturday with the first of six organised friendlies - starting with Conference North opponents Stalybridge Celtic. In what is sure to be a tough test
for the team, and a valuable oppor tunity to experience a higher level of football, the Blues will be look ing to make a mark for themselves. But Clitheroe manager Lee
Sculpher doesn't see results against such teams as Stalybridge as the sole, or even main objective, of these pre-season games. He said: “I'm looking for strong
performances in friendlies rather than results, as in the past we've won all our pre-season games and then gone on and under-performed
in the league. “So I don't hold much by results,
' ' I'd much rather get players fully fit with match practice, and I've got five to six weeks to do that proper

bridge stage Clitheroe FC's Com munity Open Day, where an “Ask the chairman and manager” forum will be on offer, as well as the sale of replica shirts and season tickets. The North West Counties
League First Division trophy will also be on display for those who have not yet seen it, and two Clitheroe Wolves exhibition match es, featuring boys’ and girls’ teams, will kick-off at 2 p.m. So the opportunity is there for
any local youngsters interested in joining the Wolves to come down and see what the club is all about. Tickets will also be on sale for the

Blues have started a new support- ers-type bond called the Executive 100, that is aimed at raising valu able funds for the club, but at the same time rewarding loyal support ers with various draws. Members will be eligible for a
draw, with prizes including two tickets to a selected England World Cup qualifying game, two tickets to the FA Cup final, and two tick ets to all of Clitheroe's FA Cup games, as well as a monthly draw for two seats on the Clitheroe away travel coach. Ideally Chairman David Burgess
is looking to attract 100 members, each paying £10 per month for the season, August to April - nine months at three times £30, or alter natively a one-off payment of £80. In return, this puts members into

which brings together the best Under 15 players in the country, takes place in Nottingham from July 25th-30th, where the North will play in-a tour nament against the West, Midland and South regions, with the final tak ing place a t Trent Bridge on the Friday.
