A MAN was attacked by two female teenagers in Clitheroe in the early hours of Saturday. Police are appealing for


witnesses to the attack in which a 20-year-old man was injured on Henthorn Road. At around 12.30 a.m. on


Saturday, the man was approached by two teenagers who demanded money. He refused and they

THIRTY different species of tropical free-flying butterflies were witnessed by a group of senior citizens from the Rib- ble Valley during their sum­ mer tr ip to the Butterfly House in Williamson Park. The group, consisting of


women from Chatburn, Waddington, Gisburn and Clitheroe, enjoyed a coach ride over the Trough of Bow- land to the historic park in Lancaster. During their stay, the group toured around the park and visited the Ashton


Memorial and, later, the But­ terfly House. They were fas­ cinated to see 30 different species of tropical butterflies feeding, flying and resting. Trip organiser Mrs Carol Hailes said: “Everyone had a great time.”
