ALTHOUGH the weather was dull when residents at the village of Bolton-By-Bow- land staged their annual sports day, colour ful fancy dress costumes certainly bright ened the atmosphere.

tranquillise the animals and direct them back into the trailer.
Armed with loaded rifles, police marks
men were also called out to shoot the Charolais cow and calf if they began to run wild and become a danger to the public. At the time, Chief Insp. Richard Mor
gan, said: “We are only here to keep things under control.
“Our officers are armed with rifles, but
only have authority to shoot if the animals run into the A671 Pimlico Link Road junction, causing a danger to the public, especially motorists.” Attempts by Mr Boddy to tranquillise

THE weather was dry for eight members of Clitheroe Ramblers who walked in the Derbyshire countryside. From Gateham, Mr Pete Goodhill led the group past Wet- ton Mill, Grindo'n. They then went to

from the Ribble Valley Strategic Partner ship will enable us to open an outreach office in Ribble Valley, which will give a focal point for carers and in particular enable them to access one-to-one support, information and our drop-in services.” If anyone can help the organisation to
