A ‘great, smashing super’ show guest
TAKE A NEW DIRECTION
KEEP an eye open for comedian Jim Bowen during Sunday's super motorshow. The man who shot to
fame as the host of the popular “Bullseye” TV programme and was former co-presenter of Radio Lancashire's "Happy Daft Farm" will be around and • about at our show and meeting visitors. Born in Liverpool,
Jim Bowen was brought up in East Lancashire and began his working life as a dustman. From there he joined
the Army, trained to be a schoolteacher and eventually married and had two children. His autobiography,
"Right Place, Right Time", saw him branch into the written word, but for most of us, Jim Bowen - a man who even now seems sur prised at his own suc cess-is renowned quite simply as a Lan cashire comedian guar anteed to brighten up the day.
READY TO MEET: Newspaper sales team members Sue Smith and Linda Clough (BIGOGO1/2)
Meet Sue and Linda
YOU can meet members of our newspaper sales team at the motorshow. Sue Smith and Linda Clough will be out and about
handing out goody bags, puzzle books, England flags, balloons, sweets, guides to reader holidays and copies of the Valley and our tourism guide, the Ribble Valley Explorer. If you are contemplating a weekend away or a holiday
in the sun, then look for the East Lancashire Newspa pers’ promotional gazebo at Mitton Hall on Sunday. Sue and Linda will be delighted to meet you and give advice on our Reader Holiday service.
