Here are a few frequently asked questions about applying for car finance through First Citizen Finance. Want to know more? Please do get in touch!


Is there a minimum age for applicants? Yes, there is. If you want to apply for car fi nance you must be aged 18 or older.


I only moved to Ireland recently; is this package for me? Well, car fi nance is open to residents of the Republic of Ireland, so the answer is, yes it possibly is, provided you meet the other necessary criteria.


To qualify must I currently have a job? Car fi nance from First Citizen is open to those who are employed or retired and who hold a bank account that is suitable for Direct Debit payments.


Is there a minimum amount that I can borrow? If you need to borrow €4,000 or more, then car fi nance from First Citizen can potentially help.


A friend wants to sell me his car; can I get fi nancing for that? Afraid not; we are a dedicated provider of motor fi nance for new and used cars & LCV’s through SIMI and Approved Motor Dealerships.


Does the car, or light commercial vehicle (LCV) I’m interested in buying have to be brand new for me to qualify for car fi nance with First Citizen? No, car fi nance is available on vehicles that are seven years old and younger.


How long will I have to repay? To qualify for car fi nance with First Citizen you must be able to repay the fi nance over no more than fi ve years for new cars and over a period of between one and fi ve years for used vehicles – depending on its age.


But what about the Annual Percentage Rate (APR) on off er? First Citizen off ers successful applicants a very competitive rate of 7.9% APR (Fixed) on car fi nance. So, here’s a typical example: the payments on a €15,000 hire purchase agreement over 48 months are €363.58 per month and the total cost of credit is €2,452.84.


How long will it take to fi nd out if I’ve been approved for car fi nance? Don’t sweat it. We’ll have a decision for you within


three business hours of your application being lodged - subject to complete information being supplied, of course.


How do I apply for my car fi nance? Well, there are a few options for you to consider:

2 Perhaps you’d prefer to visit your local franchise motor dealer and ask them to


take your details to pass on via the Autoline system at the dealership.
