potentially become pathogen for skins and activate inflammatory reactions. Then stress also increases acidophilic bacteria, and decreases genus able to resist to UV rays (Table 2). It is very interesting to correlate this new microbiota print with a clinical observation of volunteer’s skin. We indeed noticed a decrease of skin pH (- 5%) in the group of stressed volunteers as well as +64% redness and a decrease in complexion homogeneity. This highlights a direct link between skin disorders that usually appear during a period of stress and the characteristics of microbiota print of stressed skins. These first investigations demonstrate the importance of a balanced microbiota for skin protection. As skin microbiota varies with age but also with body area Codif has developed a cocktail of nutrients, Actibiome, able to promote microbiota homeostasis whatever the local ecosystem. This is a universal healthy diet for all kind of microbiota and thus for all kind of skins: carbon and nitrogen sources for bacterial growth, expolysaccharide for protection

against dessication, and minerals plus trace elements for specific metabolisms (Table 3). Tested during a week at 1% on a group

of stressed volunteers, Actibiome reverses the dysbalance induced by a temporary hectic period on microbiota print and diversity (Fig 4). Among the genus significantly impacted by stress; 65% of them are reversed by Actibiome versus only 35% with the placebo. Genus involved in pH acidification, potential inflammation and skin protection are reversed (Table 2). In the meantime, Actibiome reverses skin pH previously impacted by microbiota dysbiosis, decreases redness by 65%, improves complexion homogeneity, and makes the skin healthier and more beautiful (Fig 5).

Conclusion

Our first homemade protection is a biofilm composed of a hydrolipidic emulsion and bacteria community. The balance of both components is fragile, dependent on the other one and any disturbance could

rapidly leads to skin serious skin conditions. At the age of chronic inflammatory diseases a lot of answers could come from preserving skin’s homemade protection systems and promoting the use of natural ingredients able to work for skin health and then for skin beauty.
