White-letter Hairstreak 3.3.6 Stag Beetle and other beetles
The data trawl lists 36 species of beetle that are of conservation interest, though some have been downgraded in status since the formal status codes were originally applied. Amongst these is the Stag Beetle (Lucanus cervus), which is a UK Biodiversity Action Plan Priority Species.
Most of these listed beetles are not likely to be present in the affected area, although a small proportion might be and one at least is recorded in the present survey. Those associated with wetland habitats are more likely to be present than those associated with the dry habitats – the latter being
