Ditch 72 is unsuitable for Water Voles. It is a field drainage ditch partly shaded by woodland and dense scrub. It has shallow banks suitable for burrowing. There is suitable riparian vegetation but the ditch was very overgrown at the time of survey. At the time of survey the ditch water depth was <10cm.
Ditch 73
Ditch 73 no longer exists and consists of a redundant hedgerow base now vegetated with tall grasses.

Ditch 74 is suitable for Water Voles. It is a shallow ditch with banks suitable for burrowing and vegetated with reeds, sedges, herbs and tall grasses. The ditch opens up at the eastern end but is very overgrown in the narrower sections of the channel. At the time of survey the channel was dry at the western end.
