Ditch 45 is suitable for Water Voles. It has steep sides suitable for burrowing and is fenced off to protect it from the adjacent livestock pasture. It is a wider stretch of water between ditch 43 and 46 forming a ponds.

Ditch 46 is suitable for Water Voles. Water is fed from ditch 45 and 43 via a culvert under the road. It has steep sides suitable for burrowing. There is suitable vegetation but as the ditch runs east it becomes more overgrown and shaded at water level.
