Ditch 26 is suitable for Water Voles. The bank side and channel vegetation is dominated by Phragmites (Common Reed) with occasional tall grasses on the banks, both of which provide cover and suitable foraging. The banks are shallow and sub-optimal for burrowing. Water depth varies throughout the channel from being dry to >1m. There are areas of open water due to the wide channel (approximately 10-15m).
