The field-layer includes Brachypodium sylvaticum (False Brome) and Mercurialis perennis (Dog’s Mercury).
Target Note 1n. An Acer campestre (Field Maple) dominated hedge with a field-layer referable to the NVC type MG1 Arrhenatherum elatius grassland.
Target Note 1o. A moderately species-rich 8 m high hedgerow on a 0.5 m high earth bank with an internal dry ditch.
Target Note 1p. A hedgerow similar to that described in Target Note 1d.
Target Note 1q. A hedgerow 4 m in height dominated by Prunus spinosa (Blackthorn) with occasional Acer campestre (Field Maple), Cornus sanguinea (Dogwood), Corylus avellana (Hazel), Fraxinus excelsior (Ash), Rosa species (a Rose) and Sambucus nigra (Elder).
Target Note 1r. A hedgerow similar to that described in Target Note 1n.
Target Note 1s. A small wood with a canopy to 10 m of Acer campestre (Field Maple) and Populus ×canadensis (Hybrid Black-poplar). The shrub-layer contains Corylus avellana (Hazel), Daphne laureola (Spurge-laurel) and Salix caprea (Goat Willow). There is a species-poor field layer of scattered Poa trivialis (Rough Meadow-grass) with large patches of Mercurialis perennis (Dog’s Mercury).
Target Note 1t. A hedgerow similar to that described in Target Note 1q
Target Note 1u. Ruderal vegetation on recently cleared and disturbed ground containting Cirsium arvense (Creeping Thistle), Helminthotheca echioides (Bristly Oxtongue), Sinapis arvensis (Charlock) and Sisymbrium officinale (Hedge Mustard).
Target Note 2a. A hedge trimmed to about 2.5 m high and 2 m wide and have dense shrub-layers with no gaps. At the southern end it is dominated by Acer campestre (Field Maple) together with Corylus avellana (Hazel) and the climber Clematis vitalba (Traveller’s-joy).
Target Note 2b. A hedge similar to Target Note 2a.
