Ditch 57 is unsuitable for Water Voles. It is a roadside drainage ditch with deep, near vertical banks. The channel is heavily shaded by broadleaved woodland to the south. There is very little riparian vegetation and water depth is <10cm. There is also no connectivity to other more suitable ditches.
