Ditch 37 is suitable for Water Voles. The vegetation is dominated by reeds/sedges and tall grasses. The banks are shallow and burrowing is restricted. The northern section of the ditch is overgrown and very little Water vole evidence is present in this section. The southern section is more open and all the Water Vole evidence is concentrated in this section.

Ditch 38 is suitable for Water Voles. The vegetation is dominated by dense reeds that restrict burrowing. The banks vary in steepness, the south bank being an earth cliff. The ditch was not safe to access from water level due to deep silt.
