I would like to share with you some brief lateral notes to comment a new
way of conceiving, informing and promoting biennials and events in contemporary
art field that in 2007 have been in limelight. I wish that the form of open questions
can contribute to the debate of this first Continental Breakfast meeting in Istanbul.
It’s really a pleasure to take part in this meeting that enlarges the action sphere of
the Continental Breakfast network and I’d like to thank very much Ms. Beral Madra
and the friends of the European Cultural Association for the opportunity of being
here together and starting the Continental Breakfast Turkish activities importantly
connected with the Istanbul Biennial.
I also wish to thank Beral for having remembered Ms. Katalin Néray who won’t be
with us anymore and we will miss her wise advises and friendship forever.

baz› bienaller ve etkinliklerin yeni bir üslupla kavranmas›, bilgilendirilmesi ve
tan›t›m› hakk›nda yorumda bulunmak üzere baz› k›sa notlar›m› paylaflmak istiyorum.
Ucu aç›k sorular biçiminin ‹stanbul’daki bu ilk Kontinental Kahvalt› toplant›s›n›n
tart›flmas›na katk›da bulunabilmesini diliyorum.
Kontinental Kahvalt› acurrency1›n›n eylem alan›n› geniflleten bu toplant›da yer almak,
gerçekten bir zevk ve ben Sn. Beral Madra’ya ve Avrupa Kültür Dernecurrency1i`nden
dostlara, burada birlikte olabilme ve ‹stanbul Bienali’yle ilintili olan Kontinental
Kahvalt› ‹stanbul Forumu’nu bafllatma f›rsat›n› verdikleri için, çok teflekkür etmek
istiyorum.
