I am pleased to open this symposium which I have been planning for two years. It is
not so easy to find funds for these kinds of activities. I really had to struggle to find
possibilities of making this Forum, which I think is quite important for our
contemporary art scene in the sense that we have to communicate with the
countries, that have joined the EU and that have different or similar experiences like
we are having or we will have in the near future. I appreciate that Maria Vassileva
from Sofia, Ana Peraica from Lubljana, Ekaterina Degot from Moscow, Anda
Rottenberg from Warsaw, Jaroslaw Andel from Prague, Janka Vukmir from Zagreb,
Branco Franceschi from Croatia, Giuliana Carbi from Trieste all members of
Continental Breakfast and Lora Sar›aslan, Sinan Niyaziocurrency1lu, Marcus Graf, Erdacurrency1
Aksel, Melih Görgün and Mahir Namur from the Istanbul art scene could join us and
enable the realization of this Forum. Two members who were supposed to be in this
symposium Debosia Willic from Skopje and Aurora Fonda from Venice could not
