Investment of the Fairtrade monies into education, better housing, better schools and medical facilities is highly valued. These investments of the Fairtrade Premium by companies in community development projects is improving the quality of lives of rural communities. For workers, Fairtrade sets living wage benchmarks (standards) and is taking concrete steps towards decent wages for workers on Fairtrade plantations.
