After eight years of teaching, Edelle’s fiancé was offered a job in Sydney, Australia. The lifestyle and salary levels were a strong draw.
‘Although it is as expensive to live in Sydney as it is in Dublin, the salaries we both earn here in Australia are much higher. It was not an easy decision to move. We miss our family and friends. But we are lucky that we can return home at any stage. The money we’re earning here will allow us to save for a deposit for a house in Ireland – something that we’re unsure we could have done had we stayed at home.’
