in medicine T is unit focuses on ethical and legal issues within a medical context. It uses a lecture on ethical principles and patient consent to look at the historical sources of current practice in applying ethics in healthcare research and in the delivery of patient care. Ethical issues around access to patient data are also considered, with a focus on how these can be managed within an organization. T ere is also a listening text from a seminar where students discuss ethical issues in relation to treatment and research. T is aims to further develop students’ note- taking skills and skills in recognizing the speaker’s point of view. Students are given opportunities to discuss the content in groups and to further develop their seminar skills.
