Work through the Vocabulary Bank and Skills Bank as a revision of previous study.
Revise note-taking symbols – see the list on page 128 of the Course Book. Give the meanings, and ask students to write down the symbols (or do it the other way round). T en ask students to think about and discuss which ones they actually use. Are there any others that they have come across that they think are useful?
You could also get students to test each other in pairs or small teams. One person/team reads out the meaning of a symbol, and the other has to write it down (without checking the list). T en pairs/teams swap roles.
