Animation
An animated fi lm is a series of drawn, painted or digital scenes.
Working in small groups, make a list of all the animated films you know.
Having worked in groups to create your list, you will notice that there are lots of diff erent types of animation.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was the first ever feature-length animated film, released in 1937 by Disney. It was created using classical 2-D sketches: every image was hand-drawn and hand-painted. If Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs were to be made today, the team of animators would be able to use computer programmes to speed up the process considerably.
