3. Nouns, verbs, adjectives Bradbury uses many strong adjectives, nouns and verbs in his descriptions.

Time is an important part of setting and can tell us a lot. In Bradbury’s story, references to time show us that there is something very unusual about the setting. ‘Now?’
‘Soon.’ ‘Will it happen today, will it?’
‘It had been raining for seven years; thousands upon thousands of days’ ‘… this was the way life was forever on the planet Venus’
5. Appeals to the senses
If a writer can appeal to a reader’s senses, they can make them feel like they are in the story.
