After watching the sketch, working with a classmate, plan and act out a sketch of your own in which you both perform a poem. As part of the sketch, you will need to learn the poem off by heart.
Write or fi nd an interesting poem/song about love. Now imagine you have to teach it to a group of your classmates. Design the ideal lesson using these tips.
❍ Identify the poet/singer and explain the background to the poem/song.
❍ Decide what you would like your students to know about the poem.
❍ Think about what you should teach about the poem/song (the main points and poetic techniques, your favourite lines, etc.)
❍ Consider how you will teach it (images, music, games, etc.)
