PERFORM A DRAMATIC POEM
Perform a poem that tells a story. For example, Walter de la Mare’s poem ‘The Listeners’ lends itself very well to a dramatic performance by two students. It has a great opening line. It tells a dramatic mystery story. There are speaking parts for two people – the narrator and the travelling man. Sound eff ects and music could be added to make it more enjoyable.
Poetry Aloud is an annual poetry speaking competition organised by Poetry Ireland and the National Library of Ireland in partnership with University College Cork and open to all post-primary students on the island of Ireland. Go to their website to watch students speaking poems: https://www.poetryireland.ie/education/competitions/
PERFORM A SHORT SCENE FROM A PLAY
NOTE: If you choose to perform a key moment from your studied play, whether that be a Shakespearean play or another play, you will understand it very well and be able to quote from it in your examination.
Example number(s)
