REFLECTION NOTE (CONTD.) PERSONAL REFLECTION ON THE ORAL COMMUNICATION
One important thing I learned from doing the task
I learned that good researching takes time and that there are many ways to do it. I tried Wikipedia but the information wasn’t very good so I went to the offi cial website for the charity, which was much bet er. Face-to-face interviews were the best part of my project because I saw the emotions in the faces of the people I spoke to – it showed me what a diff erence this charity makes. I could never have learned that from a website or email.
Things I would change or try to improve on
When I heard that I would be speaking in front of the class for three minutes I was very nervous. I practised a lot but there was a lot to remember. I rushed a lit le and forgot what I was going to say twice. The next time I’ll speak more slowly. I will also make fl ash cards with key words to remind me of my main points and I will also turn around and glance at the presentation as I noticed some students did. This will help me to relax as I will know that I have something to look at if I forget what I’m saying.
