Social media has broken down many barriers between businesses and their customers; it’s a lot easier to gain constructive feedback than it has been in the past. Whether it’s a complaint, query, suggestion, or praise, social media is a great way to understand exactly what your clients want and to know what they think. Many companies now use social media as a portal for customer service; this can really help you when conducted in a professional manner as it can be a quick and easy method for clients to give feedback.

In the UK, there are now more than 15 million active Twitter users.
The average Twitter user has 208 followers and spends 170 minutes on the site every month.
If you tweet between 8am and 7pm you will see a 30% increase in engagement including Saturdays and Sundays.
If you tweet on a weekend you will reach 17% more people than you would if you tweeted on a week day.
Retweeting occurs 12 times more when a tweet asks its followers to do so but only 1% of tweets request this.
One or two hashtags create 21% more engagement.
