During its adolescence it was partly overtaken by parties who were more concerned with material gain than the delivery of a cutting- edge and gold-standard service. It’s time for greater confidence and certainty and for complete dedication to the needs of our customers and partners. At the end of the day, this will deliver the financial return we all seek – public, charitable and private – and will increase our reputation with the public and other stakeholders immeasurably.
“In terms of trend, spinning has to have had the biggest impact. It has resonated with a massive increase in cycling generally (in the aftermath of our amazing performance in Beijing and Boris bikes etc). I’m convinced the future is about linking a variety of fitness experiences – both facility based and also within the community – and cycling really does achieve this. It’s also an excellent, low carbon way to travel to work.”
