The REPs National Convention will be held on Thursday, September 22, in Birmingham during Leisure Industry Week (LIW).
As well hearing top keynote speakers, taking part in interactive sessions and earning CPD points, delegates will also be able to visit the LIW trade show which attracts thousands of visitors each year. A full exhibitor list and details of other show details can be found at http://www.liw.co.uk/

Sport and fitness
REPs Registrar Jean-Ann Marnoch outlined the role of the Register, and its relevance to sports science graduates, at the annual British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES) student conference held at the University of Chester.
She said: “Each year we get an increasing number of applications for registration from graduates, most notably those with sports science degrees. However, as every course is different it’s important that students are aware of the REPs structure and the pathways onto the Register available to graduates.
“It was great to meet the students at the BASES conference, in particular I loved their enthusiasm and interest in the REPs level 4 specialist instructor category.”
Everyone Active (SLM) has shown its commitment to achieving the highest of professional standards by ensuring fitness staff and group exercise instructors that work in its 75 sites around the country, are REPs registered.
To mark this the group has ordered wall plaques to display at each of its sites promoting the fact only REPs registered instructors work there.

Michelle Bletso, group exercise manager at Everyone Active said: “We at Everyone Active are very proud to display our new REPs plaques at all centres that provide fitness and group exercise, it gives assurance to all our customers and members that our fitness team, including group exercise instructors are qualified to a minimum standard and are continuing to update their knowledge. It has not been an easy task by any means, but we have given group exercise instructors a 12 week period to ensure they book on to courses to gain CPD points required or re-qualify themselves should they need to do so.”
