SkillsActive has been endorsing small pieces of continued professional development, and training courses, for more than seven years and this endorsement is now seen as a kite mark of industry quality.
As well as verifying that the course or training is safe and well-researched, SkillsActive endorsement also means that the syllabus meets current National Occupational Standards and as a result builds on the fundamental qualifications used to gain entry to REPs.
SkillsActive endorsement means: l The course or training carries REPs Continued Professional Development points.

However we have noticed that some training providers are implying that their courses are endorsed or carry REPs CPD points, when they don’t.
Please be aware that: l SkillsActive endorsement is NOT retrospective i.e. if you complete training before endorsement approval your learning will NOT be recognised by REPs so beware of any

“Events and Seminars; All FIA events and seminars are engaged with REPs accreditation, offering attendees four points per professional development training event attended.
“Over the last ten years, REPs has led the way in our industry to safeguard and promote the health of people who are using the services of instructors and trainers. We look forward to working with them over the next ten years to make the industry even safer for our users, employers and employees.”

l Not all courses titled “level 4” will give you REPs level 4 membership so check before you book if this is what you want to achieve.
l All courses that have been SkillsActive endorsed, are recognised by REPs, offer REPs CPD points and are listed on the training portal of the REPS website. If in doubt always check via the REPs website, the REPs office or the SkillsActive endorsement team.
As a personal trainer myself I know how expensive and valuable education is and fully
understand the frustration of REPs members who have paid for courses on the understanding that they are endorsed only to find out later they are not (and therefore cannot be recognised).
By going to the REPs website you will also be able to keep updated with the news of which training providers are not recognised or are no longer recognised.
