INDUSTRY NEWS
People often ask me how the SkillsActive Endorsement process works. What many are surprised to learn is that all endorsement is overseen by a peer-led panel of industry experts, which meets quarterly.
They’re also surprised to learn that the endorsement process and panel have been working for the last 10 years.
This Endorsement Panel assesses training to ensure it meets industry standards. The Panel follows strict criteria against which each unit of training is measured before it is given SkillsActive Endorsement and awarded REPs’ CPD points.
“Ten years ago we had six providers endorsed with only 60 courses, today we have over 400 training providers

and 3000 pieces of training. Our international strategy to partner up with other membership organisations will play an important part in supporting REPs members with recognition internationally for training they undertake.”
As part of its governance role the panel also deals with complaints and appeals about providers and training.
“The Endorsement Panel is passionate about quality assuring training courses and works hard on behalf of employers, training providers and fitness professionals to offer support and share current market information.”
