CPD can be defined as: “a range of learning activities through which professionals maintain and develop throughout their career to ensure that they retain their capacity to practise safely, effectively and legally within their evolving scope of practice.”
When you first join the Register the status awarded to you is often referred to as your “licence to practise”.
As well as optimising any potential career opportunities, CPD proves to clients and the Register that you take your personal development seriously and that your skills and knowledge are current.
Initial registration with the Register will earn gratis or ‘free’ points from the submission of level entry qualifications to help kick start members CPD record in their first year.
Member CPD requirements are: l 24 points required over a ‘rolling’ 2 year period l Minimum 4 points in any 1 year for continued membership l Maximum 8 points carried forwards/backwards into adjacent years to make a total of 12 points in any 1 year.

The role of CPD Compliance manager allows me to combine my organisational and managerial skills alongside exercise and fitness skills. It also allows me the opportunity to work alongside and with our members, by
listening to what they have to say, answering a myriad of queries, offering encouragement and giving support where necessary to assist with their CPD requirements.
The following is an overview of CPD and why it is important to you as a member.
There is no upper limit to the number of points you can achieve but you must complete a minimum of 4 CPD points every year and an aggregate of 24 points CPD credit points in any two-year period.
Thereafter at the time of annual re-registration or renewal date, members will need to demonstrate that they are “fit to practise” by achieving at least 4 CPD points for continued membership.
Additionally, there must be no breaks in registration periods, otherwise members will be unable to carry forward points from the previous year and the CPD record will revert to ‘zero’.
