Perceptions of the Register We asked fitness sector operators who were aware of the Register the extent to which they agreed with perceptions about its performance. Two-thirds of respondents (68%) agree that the Register represents the interests of the fitness industry very well, including 33% that agree strongly. The majority of respondents (70%) agree that the Register has raised the professionalism of the industry (39% strongly), and around two-thirds of respondents (64%) agree that the Register fully understands the needs of the fitness industry (34% strongly).

Organisations with 50 or more employees (excluding don’t knows) are more likely to take a positive view of the Register:

Use of the Register More than three-fifths (62%) agree they would always check job applicants’ qualifications on the Register, including 46% that agree strongly, rising to 87% of those that have had dealings with the Register in the last 12 months (72% strongly).

More than half the respondents (56%) agree that their organisation requires all staff to be registered with the Register (41% strongly), with more than a fifth (22%) disagreeing (10% strongly). Again, the proportion that agrees increases to 81% of organisations that have had dealings with the Register in the last 12 months (62% strongly).

Organisations with 50 or more employees (excluding don’t knows) are more likely to agree that they use the Register in checking job applicant’s qualifications and in requiring all staff to be registered:
