Gattefossé debuts Noxifense

Gattefossé revealed Noxifense, a 100% plant-based skin care bioactive derived from sea- buckthorn, at the PCHi (Personal Care and Homecare Ingredients) 2025 trade show in Guangzhou, China.

The ingredient is designed

to tackle ‘oxi-inflammation’, the harmful interplay between oxidative stress and inflammation. Its soothing effects are

achieved through a finely tuned process targeting specific families of flavonoids, which are of high interest for their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Gattefossé has secured the

supply of upcycled sea buckthorn leaves from a family-owned orchard in Quebec, Canada, which is dedicated to its organic cultivation and the transformation of berries into food items. Every September, the fruit-

bearing branches are manually cut, allowing for tree pruning. The unused leaves are

separated from the fruits, which

will be transformed into juices, sorbets, or jams. Other companies to make

global launches at PCHi were Jaka Biotech, Croda, Lucas Meyer Cosmetics, Ashland and Freda. Chinese outfit Jaka Biotech launched its Erythcalm SC skin care ingredient while Croda unveiled Sphingo’Hair Drypure, a fermentation-derived ceramide designed to support both scalp and hair barrier structures. Meanwhile, Ashland took

the wraps off its Collapeptyl biofunctional and Chinese company Freda launched Matrix- Colla-1, a new addition to its range of collagen active ingredients.

Lipoid Kosmetik to launch moringa active at in-cos

Lipoid Kosmetik will launch MorinGuard, a COSMOS- and NATRUE-approved cosmetic active ingredient derived from moringa, at in-cosmetics Global on 8-10 April in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Moringa oleifera, commonly

known as the ‘miracle tree’, is known for its anti-inflammatory action and celebrated for the cosmetic benefits of its seed oil. The oil production supports thousands of Rwandan farming families, creating vital economic opportunities. A by-product of oil extraction, moringa seed cake, is upcycled

by Lipoid Kosmetik to create MorinGuard. MorinGuard contains moringin,

a powerful bioactive compound that delivers exceptional skin care benefits. It combats inflammation by

inhibiting the NF-κB pathway while activating the antioxidative Nrf2 pathway to reduce oxidative stress. This dual-action mechanism

minimizes skin damage, fortifies the skin’s defence system, and promotes barrier repair, offering a comprehensive solution for inflammation, and skin barrier regeneration. “MorinGuard represents a new

era in cosmetic active ingredients going beyond beauty benefits. It’s more than a product – it’s a statement of care for the skin, the community, and the environment,” said a spokeswoman. “We look forward to meeting

you at the in-cosmetics Global in Amsterdam (stand 1E20),” she added.
