Sensient Technologies snaps up Biolie
US personal care ingredient maker Sensient Technologies has acquired Biolie, a French raw materials manufacturer specializing in white biotechnology. Located in Saint Ouen
l’Aumône in the Paris suburbs, Biolie has developed a patented, solvent-free enzymatic extraction technology for natural ingredients. Milwaukee-based Sensient
said the combined technological capabilities of Biolie and Sensient Beauty would provide an expertise in colour manufacturing that is “unmatched in the global cosmetics market”. “We are thrilled about
the strategic fit between our
companies, affirming our global leadership position in supplying natural, sustainable actives and colours to the personal care industry,” added Sensient Colors President, Mike Geraghty. Sensient Beauty’s Global
General Manager, Gaelle Frere, said: “The acquisition provides us with access to Biolie’s biotechnological process, which
will enhance our active colour portfolio.” The acquisition expands
Sensient’s manufacturing and innovation footprint in France, the Sensient Beauty headquarters and principal production facility is located in Saint Ouen l’Aumône. Nicolas Attenot, founder,
president, and head of operations at Biolie said: “Sensient expands the availability of Biolie technology globally, our upcycled- performance naturals will now be able to deliver customized innovation and value to brands worldwide.” The value of the transaction
was not disclosed. Swiss SCC airs energy efficiency guide
The Swiss Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC) has published guidelines for energy-optimised development and production of cosmetic products. The guide is the result of a
two-year project by Energy Lab, Swiss SCC, Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU), the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW), EnergieSchweiz, and Swiss firms La Prairie, Frike Group, Steinfels Swiss and Kinematica. Their document - ‘Energy-
Efficient Cosmetics Production’ - is divided into two parts.
The first part presents the
efficiency concepts, the results achieved and lists simple instructions for action. In addition, detailed regulations
for scale-up and quality determination are given. An extensive appendix (parts A
and B) with detailed background information can be obtained free of charge from the authors upon request.
The appendix provides
interested users with all the necessary background information, theory and suggestions for evaluations, which means the
efficiency concepts can be implemented by any company. This can be requested directly

Eurofragance appoints Joan Pere Jiménez CEO
Spanish fragrance house Eurofragance has appointed Joan Pere Jiménez as its chief executive officer, effective 1 January 2026. Jiménez (pictured, left),
currently the Barcelona-based firm’s chief market officer, will replace Laurent Mercier (pictured, right), who has held the position since 2018. Mercier will continue to lead
the company until 31 December and will assume a new role on the Board of Directors starting in 2026. Jiménez has been with

Eurofragance for over ten years, first as chief operations officer and has held various positions of responsibility within the management committee, including general manager for the Europe, Africa and Turkey region through 2021, and then Asia-Pacific until the end of 2023. Since January 2024, he has
held the position of chief market officer, a role he will retain until the end of 2025. “I approach this new challenge
with great enthusiasm and responsibility. I am grateful for the trust the board of directors, the
founding family members and the management team have placed in me,” he said. “During the remainder of this
year, I will continue to work with Laurent to ensure an orderly transition and carry the vision that has brought us this far, focusing on excellent service, innovation, a firm commitment to sustainability and a people-focused model.” Santiago Sabatés, chairman and

NoPalm Ingredients hits
industrial scale NoPalm Ingredients has scaled up production of sustainable oil made from yeast-based fermentation of food waste to 120,000 litres. The Dutch biotech outfit says
this level proves the feasibility of upcycling food industry side streams into high-quality, food- grade oils and reduce reliance on palm oil and other tropical fats. “Three years ago, we were
