In a multihull you can gybe round to avoid getting stuck in irons trying to tack. In strong winds, aim to stop the boat with the person between the bows. This prevents the boat blowing away from the person in the water as the boat slows down.


在操纵多体船救⼈时，可采⽤顺⻛转向，从⽽避免迎⻛转向不成功使帆船顶⻛停滞。在强⻛ 中停船，应使落⽔者位于两船头之间的位置，这样可以避免船在减速时，被⻛吹离落⽔者。


Getting the Person Aboard 救助落⽔者上船


As the boat stops alongside the person in the water, let the mainsheet run out fully and move forward to grab hold of them. If the boat is still moving it may try to tack around the person in the water, so give the tiller extension a tug to windward as you leave it. To get the person out of the water:


随着船在落⽔者旁边停下，完全松掉主帆索，移动到船前⾯抓住落⽔者。如果船继续移动， 可能会绕着落⽔者⾃动迎⻛转向。所以在松开副舵柄前，应将其推向迎⻛侧。救助落⽔者上 船步骤：

Kneel at the side of the boat and hold the person by their buoyancy aid or under their armpits.


1. 跪到船侧，然后抓住落⽔者的救⽣⾐或从腋下将其拖住。


2. Lean towards them to depress the side of the boat. Then lean backwards and pull their torso over the side.


2. 身体向落⽔者⽅向倾斜，使船侧下压；然后向后仰，将其拉上船。


3. From here, most people can help themselves aboard. If not, have them float alongside the boat, get one of their feet into the boat, then roll their torso aboard horizontally.

4. In a multihull, bring the person aboard over the forward beam or, if too difficult, over the aft beam where the freeboard is less.
