继续迎⻛偏转,收紧帆,就能使船迎⻛⾏驶,同时将稳向板完全放下。迎⻛⾏驶是帆船⾏驶 时与⻛最近的航⾏⻆度。如果更靠近⻛向的话,帆就会开始拍打,船就会减速。在这种航⾏ ⻆度下,侧倾⼒也是最⼤的,所以船员应在迎⻛侧压舷,保持船的竖直。


To sail directly upwind it is necessary to follow a zigzag course turning (tacking) through 90 degrees each time.


为保持船处于竖直状态,很有必要采⽤“之”字航线航⾏,每次转(迎⻛转向)90°。


Sailing to Windward 迎⻛航⾏


To go upwind, sail as close to the wind as you can. Sailing close-hauled efficiently means sailing on the edge of the no-go zone without turning into it.


在迎⻛航⾏时,应尽可能地接近⻛。⾼效的迎⻛⾏驶意味着,在(不可航⾏区域)禁区边缘 ⾏驶⽽不进⼊禁区。


• The crew pulls the jib in tight and can cleat the sheet.


• 船员收紧前帆,并卡住前帆索。 •


The helm steers by watching the jib tell-tales.

Luff gently until the windward tell-tales lift. Then, if the boat starts to slow down, bear away until both tell-tales stream together. If sailing a single- hander, use the tell-tales on the mainsail.


• 稍微迎⻛偏转,直到迎⻛侧⽓流线飘起。如果船开始减速,就顺⻛偏转直到两侧⽓流 线飘到重合。如驾驶单⼈⼩帆船,就利⽤主帆上的⽓流线。


The No Go Zone 不可航⾏区域


The area between the two close-hauled courses, on either side of the wind direction, is called the No Go Zone. If you sail too close to the wind into the No Go Zone the sail loses all power and you will slow down and stop. When you are sailing upwind you should always be aware of where the wind is coming from so that you stay on the edge of the No Go Zone. Having something to aim for (i.e. a new goal point for your close-hauled course) is very helpful, and the more you practise the quicker you will start to feel when you are getting too close to the wind.
