From zip-wiring through tree-top canopies to climbing an active volcano, Nicaragua is a wonderful destination for a family adventure. We search for crocodiles in mangrove-lined forests, track monkeys in Chocoyero El Brujo National Park and kayak on Lake Nicaragua. We also visit a local school, surf and stay on a volcanic island, before relaxaing on the golden beaches of Corn Island.


ITINERARY


Day 1 Fly to Managua. Day 2 Wildlife Travel to the Pacific coast to Natural Reserve Isla Juan Benado. Cruise through the mangrove forests searching for crocodiles and wild birds. Day 3 Climb an active volcano Trek on Cerro Negro. Days 4/5 Surfing Visit the colonial city of Leon. Learn to surf on Pacific Ocean waves at Playa Los Cardones. Visit a local school and learn about everyday life of the schoolchildren. Days 6/7 Stay on a volcanic island Visit Momotombo chocolate factory. Travel by boat to the volcanic island of Omotepe and swim in the sheltered bays. Visit a small farm growing organic vegetables at the foot of Maderas Volcano. Day 8 Zip-

Day 10 Cycling and kayaking Cycle to Puerto Asese and kayak through the myriad of islands on Lake Nicaragua. Days 11/14 Caribbean Island Enjoy swimming, snorkelling and relaxing on Corn Island. Return to Managua. Days 15/16 Overnight flight to the UK.
