THE LOST CITY OF PETRA 9 DAYS – EXPLORING THE KINGDOM OF JORDAN


Lost cities, crusader castles and Biblical settings are all part of this family holiday to Jordan. We visit the ruins of the city of Jerash and explore the spectacular lost city of Petra. We also camp in the dramatic desert of Wadi Rum, discover the Crusader castle of Kerak and travel to the Dead Sea to experience the sensation of floating on the surface of the saline waters.


ITINERARY


Day 1 Fly to Amman. Day 2 Jerash Visit the ruins of Jerash, one of the great cities of the Roman Decapolis. Day 3 Dead Sea Drive to the lowest point on earth and float in the Dead Sea. Travel along the King’s Highway via the Crusader castle in Kerak to the lost city of Petra. Days 4/5 Petra Enjoy 2 days at Petra. Take a guided tour of the famous ‘Rose Red City’ and explore the narrow gorges and rock-cut stairways which have scarcely changed in 2,000 years. Day 6 Wadi Rum Travel by four-wheel


drive to the dramatic desert landscapes of Wadi Rum. There is an option to ride camels to reach our overnight Bedouin camp. Days 7/8 Red Sea Drive to Aqaba. Swim in the crystalline waters of the Red Sea with an optional snorkelling trip over the coral reefs. Day 9 Drive to Amman and fly to the UK.
