VOYAGE THROUGH INDOCHINA 15 DAYS – LOST CITIES, BEACHES AND ELEPHANTS
Full of intriguing and historical sites kept hidden for decades, this is a chance to explore these beautiful and emotive countries. We venture into the Chu Chi tunnels of the Vietnam War era and explore the lost cities of the Khmer Empire at Angkor, deep in the Cambodian jungle. From elephant rides to riverboat trips, we enjoy many adventures on our journey.
ITINERARY
Days 1/2 Overnight flight to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). Days 3/4 Saigon Spend a day on the Mekong Delta visiting floating markets by sampan (a Chinese boat). See the Cu Chi Tunnels, a subterranean base that successfully hid 10,000 Vietnamese troops from the US army. Days 5/6 Beaches Stay beside the sandy beaches of Mui Ne – a perfect base for sand-sledding in the dunes. Days 7/8 Central Highlands We head for Dalat where the cooler climate is perfect for hiking. Days 9/10 Elephants At Lak Lake Ride elephants and paddle pirogues before flying back to Saigon. Days 11/13 Angkor Explore the world’s largest temple city in the ‘Lost Cities’ of Angkor, deep in the Cambodian jungle. Visit the floating villages on nearby Lake Tonle Sap, Cambodia’s largest lake covering nearly one seventh of the country’s surface area. Days 14/15 Overnight flight to UK.
